6/7/8's Become Graphic Designers

On Thursday Olya, a graphic designer, came in and worked with the 6/7/8's! She spoke with the middle school students about what a logo and a slogan are, as well as what purpose they serve. Meg came in to each class and pretended to be a client that wanted to redesign their school logo. She told the students what she wanted the logo to represent as well as any guidelines she had. Then the students had the chance to ask Meg any questions they had that would help them in their designing process. The students looked at a variety of school logos and discussed which they liked and didn't like, and why. Each student then came up with as many thumbnail sketches as they could with different ideas for the logo. They shared their logos with a small group of students and got feedback. Some students were able to start their final version on Thursday, but everyone will be working on their final design in class on Tuesday!
